The Ministry of Economy has announced that starting July 1, the government will launch grant programs for starting a business, developing entrepreneurship and “eRobotа” training.
The Government of Ukraine, together with international partners, offers a number of grant programs to support startups, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the development of the processing industry, horticulture and greenhouse farming. The programs are aimed at starting a business, creating jobs, and stimulating economic growth.
The current grant opportunities include microgrants for business start-ups, which provide up to UAH 250 thousand, depending on the number of jobs, and are applied for through the Diia portal. Also, enterprises in the processing industry, horticulture. As well as greenhouse farming are supported with the opportunity to attract up to UAH 8 million in state co-financing. Which covers up to 70% of the project for the first thousand applicants.
Startup development grants for technology product developers are available in the amount of UAH 750 thousand to UAH 3.5 million (non-refundable) and up to UAH 8 million (refundable). The Start in IT program also provides training for unemployed people, requiring them to find a job in the IT sector after completing the course.
Under the programs, entrepreneurs can receive:
- Microgrants for starting their own business (up to UAH 250 thousand);
- Grants for the development of a processing enterprise (up to UAH 8 million).
- State funding for the establishment of a garden;
- Funds for the development of a greenhouse (up to UAH 7 million).
- Grant for startup implementation, including in the IT sector.
- Funding for IT-specialty training.
Entrepreneurs can apply for participation along with a business plan of production activities through the Diia portal. The participant’s evaluation is conducted by the bank based on their business reputation, project plan, and an interview. The decision on granting funds is made by the Ministry of Economy based on the bank’s conclusions.
