Small business today is the socio-economic foundation without which any innovation-oriented country, particularly a European one, cannot develop sustainably.
Small businesses largely determine the pace of economic growth, the structure, and the quality of the gross domestic product.
Its main function, which is extremely important, is social: creating jobs, providing professional training, and more.
Financial and Credit Support
A key aspect of the development of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) is financial and credit support.
This support is provided through budgetary, non-budgetary, and alternative funding sources that are not prohibited by current legislation.
It utilizes the proactive approaches of local executive authorities to find ways to financially stimulate the development of small businesses at the regional level. This is achieved through appropriate targeted programs.

| ЄС «Цифрова Європа» | COSME is a set of thematic projects and programs for the period from 2014 to 2020 with a total budget of 2.3 billion euros. The list of programs determined by the European Commission changes every year. | A grant for free business support from the Public School of Business | The grant project will cover only 8,000 entrepreneurs and small business owners in Ukraine in 2018. | Small business support group in Ukraine from the EBRD | The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) offers grants to small and medium-sized enterprises to grow their business. It has been providing grant support to small and medium-sized businesses in Ukraine since 2010.
The EBRD helps enterprises attract highly qualified consultants who are capable of qualitatively transforming their business, and provides grants (non-repayable financial assistance) for partial payment of consultants’ services. Funding is provided by the European Union and donor countries. |
