Zhytomyr Region and Indiana Establish Partnership

A landmark event for Zhytomyr Region: Ukrainian regions are beginning to establish cooperation with U.S. states. On September 5, Vitalii Bunechko, Head of Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, signed a Memorandum of economic, academic, and cultural cooperation between Zhytomyr Region and the State of Indiana in the presence of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.Житомирщина та штат Індіана започаткували партнерство

Margarita Siranchuk, Director of our Agency, also participated in the meetings held as part of the Memorandum signing. During these meetings, an action plan for implementing the Memorandum was discussed, along with opportunities for cooperation between the Agency and the Indiana Economic Development Corporation.

Zhytomyr Region and Indiana share common characteristics, including strategic logistical locations, developed agriculture, and extractive industries. Additionally, there are promising prospects for fostering intermunicipal collaboration and partnerships between universities in Zhytomyr and Indiana.Житомирщина та штат Індіана започаткували партнерство

“This cooperation is from community to community, from heart to heart,” stated Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb, highlighting the significance of the Memorandum and the partnership.
