NGO “IN Touch Ukraine Foundation” announces the launch of the innovative educational initiative “Together to Learn” as part of the UNICEF project in Zhytomyr region.
“Together to Learn” is a large-scale educational program from UNICEF, which provides a wide range of educational activities aimed at helping children catch up on educational opportunities lost due to the war. First of all, it includes the development of training courses for teachers and psychologists.
These are innovative teaching methods in the following areas:
- digital tools for blended learning in schools;
- facilitation in the educational process;
- correction of post-traumatic stress disorder in children;
- Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) based on UNICEF standards.
It is planned that the training courses will cover 1,710 teachers and 270 psychologists in Zhytomyr region. Afterwards, the course participants will be able to apply these methods in 570 schools in Zhytomyr region. The program also provides financial incentives for teachers who will implement new methods, humanitarian aid to schools, technical support, including for shelters, and educational kits.
One of the priorities of the project is to improve children’s access to quality education in the communities of the region where there are problems with educational services. Therefore, within the framework of the “Together to Learn” program, we plan to establish 10 educational hubs. For this purpose, 4 mobile teams consisting of teachers and psychologists will be created in regional communities. They will provide educational and psychological support to children on the ground.
