UNICEF Children’s Fund in Zhytomyr

“Comprehensive emergency response in Zhytomyr region to meet the needs of children, parents, and guardians affected by the armed conflict in Ukraine” UN Children’s Fund 2022-2023 gg.

Provides for the introduction of measures to improve the life of residents of Zhytomyr region in the areas: of education, health, social protection, child protection, hygiene and water supply. All communities of the region will be involved in various areas and activities. Previously, a program of cash payments to families from UNICEF “Together.” A coordination center has been formed to work with registrars of the region (6 people), who provide consulting services (for 130 registrars of the region) and conduct registrations.

The transfer of humanitarian aid to educational institutions and public organizations working with children in the Zhytomyr region has begun. In total, more than 300 tons of humanitarian aid have been provided. This aid supports relevant educational, medical, and psycho-social institutions, as well as internally displaced persons (IDPs) and local communities. Additionally, training for pediatricians in the region has started. The Popasna Center for Comprehensive Rehabilitation of Children with Disabilities has relocated to the city of Zhytomyr.

The Regional Office of International Cooperation has achieved noticeable results in its work. Specific outcomes will be showcased today. These outcomes span various sectors. They include education, social protection, healthcare, economic development, sanitation, hygiene, and more.

To such project belongs:

Realization project of the Child’s fund of the UNO(UNICEF) in the Zhytomyr area the “Complex reacting on emergencies in the Zhytomyr area for providing of necessities of children.
As well as parents and guardians that suffered as a result of the armed conflict in Ukraine”. The project embraces such directions as education, defence of child, social defence, health protection, sanitation and hygiene.

The project provides assistance in the restoration and reconstruction of water supply and sanitation facilities in medical institutions.
Аlso educational institutions, places of compact residence of internally displaced persons and collective shelters in the communities of the region.
