Development of the Local Business Environment

With support from the “EU4Business: Recovery, Competitiveness, and Internationalization of SMEs” program, our team, together with experts, has developed Methodological Recommendations for local governments on developing the local business environment.

The Methodological Recommendations contain descriptions of best practices for “community-business” interaction, specifically developed based on the results of training sessions for local governments on cooperation and communication with businesses, which we conducted this May in four communities of the region: Korostyshiv, Malyn, Radomyshl, and Brusyliv, also supported by the EU4Business program.

The authors of the Methodological Recommendations are Serhii Trokhymyshyn – Chairman of the NGO “Improve Yourself,” Yulia Orikhovska – Chairman of the NGO “AYAK,” and Vitaliya Klimentieva – Manager of the Regional Development Agency.

The Methodological Recommendations consist of three sections and address the most common questions from local governments about cooperating with businesses:

  • How to establish communication and build mutual trust?
  • What tools to choose for gradually involving businesses in community life?
  • What business support tools can be introduced in communities?
  • How to create an effective Entrepreneurs’ Council in the community?
  • What are the communication channels with businesses, and what should be highlighted there to provide real value to businesses?
