Zhytomyr region launched a project to support small and medium-sized businesses in four communities
At the request of the EU4Business program, the Regional Development Agency of Zhytomyr region begins to work on the implementation of the new project “Capable Community for Doing Business” to support small and medium-sized businesses in four communities of the region. The participants were the Malinskaya, Korostyshevsky, Radomyshl and Brusilov communities.
The project “Capable Community for Doing Business” provides a wide range of training activities for community and business representatives, practical business support and research of the business environment in communities. Within seven months, business representatives from the Korostyshevsky, Brusilovsky, Malinsky and Radomyshl communities will participate in a number of activities to restore and sustainable development of support systems for small and medium-sized enterprises, “says Margarita Siranchuk, acting director of the Regional Development Agency of the Zhytomyr Region.
As part of this project, entrepreneurs will receive training on sustainable business and sales.
Planned activities that will help the business:
develop an entrepreneurial culture and knowledge, including activities aimed at supporting the sustainability of business in wartime;
expand access of small and medium-sized businesses to markets, including international ones;
support and innovate the SME sector.
The project provides a wide range of training activities for business. Including training for SMEs on the use of registers of settlement transactions, trainings and individual consultations on online sales. Also, it is planned to develop marketing products for SMEs. In addition, a comprehensive study of the business environment of the communities participating in the project will be carried out.
In May, the first project activities for entrepreneurs and local self-government bodies will be held, which will contribute to the introduction of new practices of interaction with business, attracting investors to communities.

The international cooperation program “EU4Business: Recovery, Competitiveness and Internationalization of SMEs’ is jointly funded by the European Union and the German government. The program is implemented by the German federal company Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. The program aims to support economic sustainability. Also on the restoration and growth of Ukraine, creating better conditions for the development of Ukrainian small and medium enterprises (SMEs). An important aspect of the same is to support innovation and export.
