An official delegation from the Zhytomyr region visited the state of Indiana. This visit follows the recent signing of a Memorandum of Partnership between the two regions, marking a significant step in bilateral cooperation.
The delegation was headed by Vitaliy Bunechko, Head of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration. The panel included deputy heads of the regional state administration Viktor Gradivsky and Natalia Arendarchuk, and specialists from the regional state administration. In particular, the Department of Development and Economic Policy of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, representatives of the Zhytomyr Regional Council, and Margarita Siranchuk, director of our agency.
The delegation members participated in a wide range of meetings, including:
held a working meeting with Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb;
held negotiations with representatives of two municipalities of the state. The cities of Wabash (City of Wabash Indiana) and Noblesville (@City of Noblesville, Ind.) on potential partnerships;
joined a meeting with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation to share experiences and identify areas of cooperation on veterans’ support and rehabilitation programs;
the delegation visited Indiana University to discuss cooperation with academic representatives. They explored opportunities for partnerships between universities in Zhytomyr and Indiana.;
held a series of business meetings with representatives of Indiana business circles;
met with honorary consuls and official diplomats of countries that have their representative offices in Indiana.
Today, it is extremely important to establish cooperation with partners from abroad to inform the international community about the situation in Ukraine. It is also important to defend Ukraine’s interests and attract support from partners for development. After all, national diplomacy is implemented at different levels, including at the interregional level.
Partnership with Indiana opens up a wide range of opportunities for both sides.
We are convinced that the meetings will become a solid foundation for joint initiatives of Zhytomyr and Indiana. We are grateful to all the initiators and organizers of the visit, all the partners with whom we met. Оf course, to the leadership of Indiana for the warm welcome.
