Stimulating the export of enterprises and popularizing Ukrainian goods and services abroad is one of the priorities of the state’s economic development. In 2023, the foreign trade turnover of enterprises of the Zhytomyr region increased by 1% compared to 2022 and amounted to 1,958.6 million dollars. USA. Zhytomyr Oblast remains one of the leading regions of Ukraine in terms of export of grain and oil crops, granite products. As well as wood and fuel wood products. Including components for cars, electrical equipment, fuel boilers, equipment for drying and processing grain, and kitchen machines. Among the products of the mining industry, granite and granite products have a specific weight. After the large-scale invasion, regional enterprises in the field of stone processing faced a difficult task of reorientation of product exports. Since a significant share of exports of this particular group of goods was carried out to Belarus and Russia. However, it follows from the statistics that the reorientation of export markets continues quite successfully. Because in 2023 the group of goods “stone, plaster and cement products” took the 3rd place in the product structure of regional exports. Among the territorial communities where the largest number of enterprises exporting stone products are concentrated: Malynsk hromada, Korostyshivsk hromada, Khoroshivsk hromada and Irshansk hromada.
Significantly, the products of the pulp and paper industry are included in the top ten export groups of goods. Because of large enterprises of this industry are successfully operating in the region. In particular, the enterprise with Swiss investments “Malynyska Paper Mill-Weidmann”, Paperboard and Paper Mill “Papir-Mal”, Zhytomyrskyi cardboard plant and Korostysh paper factory.
It is worth noting that Zhytomyr region once again confirms its status as “the region of organic production”, because organic vegetable raw materials are widely represented in the product structure of regional exports, in particular berries (mostly blueberries, blackberries, cranberries), asparagus, as well as organic dairy products.

Despite complicated logistics in connection with military actions on the territory of Ukraine, the geography of regional exports is quite wide. Regional exports are mostly represented in all the countries of the European Union, the USA, Canada, the countries of the Caucasus region and East Asia, with a smaller volume in the countries of South America, the Balkan Peninsula and Africa. Germany, Poland, China and Hungary became the largest importers of products of regional companies in terms of export volume in 2023.
