ZhytomyrInfo talked about the regional development of Zhytomyr Region, the investment climate in the region and priorities for recovery.
Zhytomyr took first place in the “Regional Doing Business – 2020” rating among the most convenient cities for doing business in Ukraine, highlighting the strong investment climate. The region received high marks for the convenience of opening a business, registering land and connecting to power grids. The key advantages are the short time of business registration and the efficient operation of the Taxpayer Service Center. At the same time, electronic services, local taxation and the construction permit system remain weak aspects that need improvement.

Reference: Ranking “Regional Doing Business – 2020” is determined as a sum of scores that a regional centre receives in terms of six components: setting up business, payment of local taxes, formalization of a land plot, joining the electrical grid, electronic services and getting construction permits. The evaluation was carried out in accordance with the adapted methodology of the World Bank on the basis of the survey of Ukrainian entrepreneurs. 1754 respondents from 25 oblasts and the city of Kyiv participated in the survey. Ranking “Regional Doing Business”, which evaluates how easy it is to do business in all regional centres of Ukraine, has been developed by BRDO experts since 2017.
