WHAT CAUSE CAUSES FOREIGN INVESTORS TO MAKE MONEY IN UKRAINE?
It's no secret that foreign investors think for a long time before investing their money in Ukraine. They are frightened by many factors associated with the current system.
Recently, interesting statistics on the most common reasons for the refusal of foreign investors to work in Ukraine were made public. A statement by Tomas Fiala, CEO of Dragon Capital and the President of the European Business Association, at the Forum on "Full Mobilization: A Joint Action Plan," announced the results of a survey of foreign investors that took place in August-September this year as an obstacle to doing business in Ukraine.
In the first place, corruption and distrust of the judicial system have been steadily keeping their positions for the first time. This is the biggest and most important obstacle for a foreign investor to work in Ukraine.
The third place is financial instability and the national currency rate. Next are volatile and volatile legislation, restrictions on capital flows and currency transactions, as well as illegal and repressive actions by law enforcement agencies.
It is noteworthy that the financial instability this year has gone up 2 steps. This is partly due to external debt and not clearly outlined prospects for cooperation with the IMF.
Among the positive moves of the Ukrainian authorities that could contribute to the improvement of the investment climate, foreign entrepreneurs call a reboot of the judicial system, a real and prominent fight against corruption, separating policies from a business.
"In turn, the lack of quality investment products (industrial parks, land plots with connected communications, special economic zones), business pressure, attacks by independent anti-corruption institutions, and a change in the political course will negatively affect the decision of foreign investors to invest in business development in Ukraine. Instead, the rule of law, real reforms in the judicial and law-enforcement system, currency liberalization will help to increase the flow of foreign investment in Ukraine, "said Artyom Sachuk, director of the Regional Development Agency of Zhytomyr region.
Such a survey is conducted annually among current or potential foreign investors in order to determine the investment climate, the direction of the state in attracting foreign investment.
